By Jarrod Proctor

Jarrod Williams, senior at Carroll County High School, signed with Centre College to play football and baseball on Friday, May 14, 2004. Jarrod is the son of Roger and Pam Williams of Carrollton. Williams has played football and baseball at CCHS all four years he has been his high school. During his sophomore season he was challenged early by being the starting quarterback on the football team, the starting third baseman on the baseball team, and one of the starting pitchers on the baseball team. Jarrod has also played basketball for CCHS all four years of high school. “It’s a dream come true,” said Williams about signing with Centre. “I have always wanted to play sports at the next level and I can’t believe that I’m actually getting the chance.” Jarrod plans to get a nice learning experience his first year on the teams. “The football coach has already told me that they never start a freshman quarterback because the first year is always a learning year,” Williams stated. “The baseball team is full of sophomores and juniors so if I want to play I’ll have to work harder then the older guys.” Williams doesn’t have to worry about academics at one of the toughest schools in Kentucky. In his four years at CCHS he has remained in the top 10 in his class and has only received one B since entering high school. After Jarrod graduates from college he wants to remain in sports. He said he would like to become a sports physician after college.
