Every member contributes to the accomplishment of this goal, but junior Malcolm Flemming is expected to lead the team. “He’s a gifted athlete in basketball and football and will be a big part of the success for the football team,” football coach Tom Wozniak said. “I’m looking for him to take more of a leadership role with the team both on and off the field.” At school Flemming is a very cool and laid back person, according to junior Nathan Wade. “As a football lover, I admire his athletic ability and his potential,” Wade said. Flemming likes to think of himself as laid back. Television and video games occupy his time when he is at home. “Every now and then I kick it with my friends, but I enjoy keeping to myself mostly,” Flemming said. Sports are a huge part of his life as well as his future. “I love playing basketball and football. I feel like I am very good at each sport, I am a great leader for my teams, and I can easily ease my mind when I play, “ Flemming said. Although he wants to go to college and then to the army, he still wants to play football and basketball. “[Basketball and football] are constant reminders of what I am good at, what helps me when no one else can and what I really enjoy doing,” Flemmnig said. According to Wozniak, Flemming works hard to realize his potential. He is one of only a few two-way players, playing both offensive guard and defensive end. “He’s a very good school leader and great football player,” assistant principal Gregg Willis said. Staying on top of school and football is a lot of work for Flemming, but he can handle it. “Anybody who wishes to be successful should have good time management skills,” Flemming said. “It’s a lot of work but anybody can do it if they really want to.”
