Top brands this year include iPhones and Droids, but teenagers have their own opinions on the two types. “I like my Droid because it can do a lot of stuff,” said Elizabeth Beverley, a sophomore at Briar Woods. Victoria Toland, a sophomore and Droid owner, does not quite feel the same way. “I sometimes like my Droid,” Toland said, “but sometimes it just randomly turns off.” iPhone owners have differing opinions as well. “I don’t like my iPhone because it’s a year old and breaking,” said Hannah Goodwyn, sophomore, “I like the concept of an iPhone, I just really need an upgrade.” The iPhone 4s has recently come out and has iPhone and Droid owners eager to use their upgrades on it. “I would definitely prefer an iPhone because it’s cooler and the software is better,” said Stephanie Davis, sophomore and Droid owner. Droids are also larger than iPhones which has persuaded some buyers to lean toward the smaller, easy to handle iPhone. “For size, I like my iPhone better,” said Goodwyn, “the Droid does not fit into my pocket.” The Apple iPhone and Motorola Droid have some similarities and some differences but teenagers for the most part seem to have specific preferences - not unlike the Coke versus Pepsi cola wars.
