By Alana Whitlock

It was a tough game between the American High and Miami Springs Senior High boy varsity soccer teams. Miami Springs was dominating the field in the first 15 minutes of the game till American started catching up. American put in their first goal at 7:45pm and their second at 8:22pm on a penalty kick in the goalies box. Then Miami Springs was back in the game when Chino (number 6) scored a one on one with the goalie goal. Also Brian – received a double yellow card for fowling an American player, which kept Brian out for the rest of the game. Then about ten minutes later in the second half, American received another penalty kick in the goalies box. This time Andres blocked the kick but sadly the American team caught the rebound and kicked it in the goal. Seconds later Luke Bray elbowed an American player to the head giving Luke his second yellow card and his seat on the bench for the rest of the game. Then the insults from both teams started coming out. The American goalie kicked one of the Miami Springs players which resulted in Leo – punching an American player on the nose and then in the groin. Leo was then given a red card which placed him out of the game. The game was called to continue and the fighting between the teams came to a halt. American scored their fourth and final goal in the last remaining seconds leaving the game a 4-1 lost for Miami Springs. Meaning the season is over. This is Good bye to the Seniors and a Hello to the Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman for another year on the team to make it to the top.
