Mr. Hesse's wife and children showed up to a crowd of Hesse alumni. The Hesse Memorial Garden was dedicated in style from shamrocks on cheeks to stylin' ties, people wore what made them remember one of their favorite teachers. They also ate cookies in honor of Mr. Hesse our "Cookie Monster!" Students read a special poem and University of Montana scientists explained the importance of the garden. Students will be able to study plants and outdoor life while also remembering Mr. Hesse. Students also painted wooden ties that will be used as name plates for the different plants. The common name, scientific name, and Salish name of each plant will be posted for all to see. Mrs. Howlett along with Mrs. Barger planned the event and are very happy with the outcome. Mr. Hesse we miss you!!! Help our garden grow!!
