Winter in the Summer Sun

http://my.hsj.org/schools/newspaper/tabid/100/view/frontpage/schoolid/1234/articleid/252868/winter_in_the_summer_sun.aspx

By Melissa K., 8th grade

What would you say if you could spend the winter holiday in the sunshine state where the temperature of the week was in the mid to low 80s? Imagine if on Christmas day you would be walking on the beach, collecting sea shells by the sea shore, and swimming with the fish as the fins on their body quickly fluttered around you. Enjoying that type of weather in the winter season in Florida is mind blowing. Escaping the snow storms and power outages caused by Nor’easter storms is worth any trip all together! To be able to one day wear boots, jeans, and loads of layers and the next wear a summer dress and your bathing suit tied around your neck as the sound of slapping flip flops fill the air, is worth the trip. The sunshine state is the way to go when Connecticut’s winter winds blow!
