By By Casey W., 8th grade

Hey, all you middle school students! Do you do an after school activity such as play a sport, play in the band, or join a club? Teachers and other students see great efforts in students involved with social activities. Here are some activities available at our school: soccer, volleyball, field hockey, cross country, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, softball, baseball, track and field, student council, drama, newspaper, photojournalism, town meeting, make a difference, yearbook, cooking, literary magazine, knowledge masters, etc.
Social activities help when you are working as a team or in a group. You don’t necessarily have to like the people you are working with. Later in life, you won’t get to make choices like who your business partner is in a major company or who your boss is.
In health class, both 7th and 8th graders learn how physical, social, and mental skills help your body. I bet everyone can relate to something associated under one of those three topics.
I am personally playing soccer, basketball, and softball. I am also in Student Council. My favorite thing about being on a team or working to help our school is helping and teaching one another and learning from other people’s mistakes.
So, for all you kids out there not currently involved, join a club, sport or organization today and it will challenge you as a person!
