By By Dan H., 8th grade

“Finally!” we 8th graders said in relief when we got to the Hartford Stage theater in Hartford, CT on September 16, 2008, to enjoy the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.. We were anxious to finally see the fantastic play we had carefully studied and acted out in costume in English class the year before.
When we walked in to the theater, it felt like we were going into a bull race because everyone was crowded around one another. When we walked in it was amazing! We literally walked onto the stage where the actors would perform on. It was going to be an awesome experience. The ground was covered in loose grass just like in a field. When we walked up to our seats, every seat had a fantastic view. The actors even performed and worked with the crowd. Some seats were literally on the stage with actors literally under our feet. The show was excellent because we were literally in the action of the play. It felt like we were sitting on a chair on your balcony seeing everyone perform things normal people would do back then. “My favorite scene was the play within the play. It was hilarious!” commented John Peter H. It was an excellent show that we all will never forget.
