Junioritis attacks!

By Claire Westlie

It’s that time of the year where there are still a few weeks of the school year, but students are already clocking out.
The challenge is staying focused even when the end is in sight. Seniors have it rough because they’ve been in high school for four years and they’re all ready to leave, but the juniors? They still have one year left.
Junioritis, in my opinion, is a wicked awful thing that makes a smart, focused person suddenly become lazy and bored. Symptoms include: not completing simple assignments, not studying for tests and watching more TV than any teenager should.
Sure, summer is around the corner, but that last year of high school is waiting like guillotine waiting for the prisoner. Then the stresses of figuring out what you’re going to do with the rest of your life hangs over you like a dark cloud.
There is a silver lining to being a junior, you still have time. You can still be looking at several colleges, you still have time to work, and you have time to relax and be a teenager.
Some cures to junioritis are the following: don’t procrastinate, get a job, and remember all the fun things you can do during summer.
