			<title><![CDATA[Fad diets, bad diets]]></title>

Across America, obesity has become a widely recognized problem resulting in diet fads.      The cabbage, soup and grapefruit diet may sound easy, but such diets can be very  dangerous.   Centering meals on one particular food  eliminates foods that supply the body with  specific nutrients that are vital to a healthy body.     Fasting enables models to lose weight quickly, and this seems to have become a trend among all individuals. Problems with fasting are varied, but the weight loss is mostly water weight and short term.     Fasting can be very dangerous because it is the gateway to anorexia. The less a person eats, the less the body wants to burn the fat  it has stored.      Pills and dietary supplements have Americans spending over $30 billion on weight loss products annually. The Mississippi Dietetic Association (MDA) says to beware of any product that claims a person can lose weight without diet and exercise. If the label sounds too good to be true, it is probably the case.     “The best diet is eating low fat foods and exercising at least three times a week,” Coach Aaron Minger said.     The best diet contains three steps to long-term success.      The first is to eat smaller portions of low-fat foods. Diets based on carbs and low-calories may not be right for an individual’s body type, but low-fat diets are healthy for everyone.      The second is exercise, which releases endorphins in the body. The more active a person is the more positive and healthy they will look and feel.     The last step is to repeat the first two. The path to weight management will be well underway in no time. ]]></description>
