By Jessica Royer

Whether I want to go to Miami, New York or Paris someday — I haven’t really thought about it yet. However, I do know that I’m going somewhere in the world one way or another, even if im still stuck in Ohio. I could be living the life in a mansion in San Diego, but I also could even be living in a box in Central Park. But in 10 years, I would love to see myself ... just happy. It may sound corny or cliche, but it’s the truth. I’d rather be happy than miserable. So far, my years in high school have taught me many lessons — yet the most important lesson is that I can do anything I want to do. When I get my diploma at the end of my senior year, anything is possible. My decisions depend on where I go and how I do in life. I could be the richest person on earth; I could be a pauper. Who knows? I could even go from writing a small opinion piece for a high school newspaper to being the editor of Vogue. Will I get the chance? Maybe. But if I do, I’ll make sure its worth it. All in all, life is about taking chances. I think we have all figured it out by now. Every step should count. I plan to take risks and chances in life. Whatever I am doing ten years from now, it will be great. Great because I took a chance. Great because my life isn’t written in stone. Great because I worked as hard as humanly possible to achieve it — no matter how impossible it may have seemed at the time.
