By Ryan Johnson, Staff Writer

Photo Taken From Internet

After a historic and monumental Sectional Championship and State appearance last spring for Girls’ Lacrosse, two key components to the team’s success will be showcasing their talents on the college field next spring. Molly Gray and Claudia Coleates will be attending Division I schools to play lacrosse. Claudia Coleates will be attending Canisus College in Buffalo. Claudia is one of the top goalies in the League and had an outstanding save percentage in 2011 with 65.1%, and only allowed on average four goals a game. Claudia earned a spot on the Daily Messenger All-Star Team. Claudia states, "I’m looking forward to playing in college because I could not imagine my life without lacrosse; I’m anxious to play at the college level and ready to take the challenge head on." Some of her favorite memories of being a Wildcat are beating Waterloo for the third time last year in the semi-finals then going on to win Sectionals and the great times the team had going to States. Claudia will miss her high school teammates and the great bonds they have created on and off the field. Molly Gray will be attending La Salle University in Philadelphia. As a midfielder last season, Molly put up phenomenal numbers with 55 goals and 51 assist and this also earned her the recognition of Daily Messenger Player of the Year. Molly will be looking forward to the intensity Division I lacrosse will bring; she is excited to meet and play with a new group of girls who share the same love for the game that she does. Her favorite memory of high school lacrosse is wining Sectionals and going to States last season. Molly will miss her teammates and coaches from high school because they have helped her mold as not just an athlete but as a person, She states, "they have made my high school experience an unforgettable one." Both athletes are great inspirations and give hope to many youth lacrosse players looking to follow their dreams of playing college lacrosse. We wish the best of luck to both athletes as they represent our school on the biggest stage of all.
