By Taylor Jaimes

Summer is here, and high school students have been bitten by the summer bug. “My favorite thing about summer is all the vacations my family and friends go on,” said junior Erika Herring. “It makes my summer really fun and eventful.” Sophomore Jessica Wells is also looking forward to vacation. “My family, friends, and I are all going to Branson for like three weeks,” she said. “We are going canoeing and just spending quality time together.” A lot of student athletes have many tournaments over the summer. Traveling to many different places for sports can also be a way to go on vacation. “My sports’ teams travel for basketball and softball. Those are my vacations,” said junior Brianna Ploude. “I like traveling with my teams because the girls are really fun and we always have a good time. We usually win the tournaments, too.” Some people’s families go camping or out on the lake for their vacations. “I spend most of my summer out on the lake, whether I’m working or just out there with my family and friends,” said freshman Jennifer Harvey. “Some people don’t like camping, but I love it.”
