Q: It's your last season of track, what are you goals for this season? A: My goals are to help lead our team to conference and to advance to the state meet. I also believe it is important for me to set an example for the underclassman, to help them be successful in the future. Q: Do you plan on running track in college? A: As of right now I don't plan on running in college. I will be focusing on my school work. However, if I am given the opportunity to walk-on, then I may give it a shot. Q: How does the team look as a whole? A: The track team has a lot of underclassmen and many of them have been asked to step up and run. Every meet the younger runners improve and the team just gets better. Q: What will you take from track that will help in life? A: Track has given me so much. It has given me the chance to compete as a team and feel that sense of brotherhood that only comes with being on a team. It has also taught me self-discipline. When I am running an individual event, there is no one to blame except myself. Knowing that brings out my best effort in every race. I translate that to every day life. Q: How big of an influence has Coach Citron had on you? A: Wow. I can't even begin to tell you how much of an influence Coach C has had on me as a runner and a person. Coach has always demanded respect, thus teaching me respect. Coach has taught me a lot about hard work as well. I have also always respected Coach's track knowledge. He knows so much and volunteers his time to help a bunch of high school track runners. It shows Coach's passion for track. Over the last four years it has been my privilege to get to know Coach Citron as a coach and a person. Q: Favorite track memory? A: I've made a lot of good memories over the last four years. I'd have to say my favorite though is when my 4x100 meter relay team broke the MGHS record. I remember Coach Citron walking up and saying, “ I think you might have broken the record!” The whole team waited nervously and when we saw the results every started jumping and screaming, we couldn't believe it! Q: What events to you run this year? A: 100, 200, and 400 meter dash as well as the 4x100, 4x 200, 4x 400 meter relays. Q: What are your favorite events? A:My favorite events are the 4x 100 and the 4x 400. I like the 4x 400 the most, especially when I'm the lead off leg. Q: What is some advice for the underclassman? A: LISTEN TO COACH CITRON!! Don't take anything personal, everything he says is for your benefit. Also, don't beat yourself up. You can't get a personal best at every meet. You have to pick yourself up and run the next race. Also, don't get nervous, you can't control who you race against. Just line up, and think about what you have to do, and do it.
