By Candace Le

With the end of first quarter came the end of the Journalism class. It was a good two months, and we had some good times (minus my crabby days). This is the second issue of Inscriptions for this year and the last issue for Journalism, meaning that the paper will soon belong soley to the newspaper club. Some newspaper members recently went on a field trip to the University of Minnesota for the School of Journalism Convention where we learned all sorts of new things. Eventually some of us just walked to Chipotle only to be discouraged by the neverending line. We settled for Noodles & Company. What I’m trying to say is that despite the fact that newspaper is hard work, we have fun and joke around all the time. The group that I’m working with is wonderful, and they all make me laugh like nobody’s business. If it weren’t for my positive page editors and my ridunkulous photo editor, I would undoubtedly be going godzilla on everyone at this very moment. Chloe always makes sure that I don’t get too stressed out about anything, even when deadline is just around the corner. My photo editor, Lauren, is always laughing and it’s contagious. Then there’s Travis who, rather unfairly, is able to make me smile nearly all the time, definitely without even trying. David’s great too--he puts me back in my place, because someone has to, and he’s good at it. Of course there’s Becca, who’s bubbly even if she’s stressed. She always gets the photos I need. Kaitlin, who I’ve known since I was in, like, first grade--we still talk, joke, and laugh about the same things. For the Yearbook members who also decided to join Inscriptions, I’m so grateful to have them. Kelsey, who is the editor of the yearbook, teaches me what I need to know to get my work done and makes sure that I don’t overwork myself. Sie ist eine gute Freundin! As for Mikey... that boy can dance and crack jokes like no other human being on this planet. Ms. Krueger is the best advisor ever. She’s the sweetest lady, and I’ve never seen her frown. Mr. Swedin’s cool too, for letting us use the Yearbook room and being so understanding about certain things. And everyone else who’s in newspaper is great, too. I am just too tired to list them all. Maybe it’s just late, but I don’t know what I’d do without you guys, that includes the readers. Kay. Thanks. -Candy
