By Kelsey Crandall

Come graduation time in June, every senior is sick of hearing the inevitable loaded question, “What are your plans for the future?” Although most people have a good idea of something they might want to possibly consider; very few have it actually figured out. That is not the case for Bobby Ranallo. Koln, Germany will be called home for this senior. “I’ve wanted to work with people from other countries all my life,” he says tapping his fingers against the library table. Bobby plans on studying in Germany for 6 months before returning back to the States to continue his education in International Business. “There are so many connections between America and Germany. In Koln alone there is the big Toyota plant, and Bayer Asprin to name a few. The more people I can meet now, the more I can be set up in the future,” Bobby says keeping possible career opportunities in mind. The desire to leave America and head to Germany all started back in Herr Kalin’s German 1 class back in his freshmen year. Why Germany? “That’s a good question,” Bobby thinks as he strokes his chin, “I have a lot of friends there and when I went to Germany two summers ago and didn’t want to leave when it was time to come home. I like the city a lot. I also like that the people are nicer, more honest and a lot more laid back.” “I don’t know what I am going to do. Everything!” It won’t be just work though, Karneval and possibly taking a “run” to Berlin for a visit are part of the joys Bobby is looking forward to . Over Easter he plans on going to Austria for a snowboarding trip as well. “I am going to live like a real German, that’s why I am going there.”
