By Kelly DePietro

Peter Klaven has everything in life: a stable job, a great family and a beautiful fiancée. There’s only one component he is missing, close male friends. After proposing to his girlfriend, Zooey, Peter starts to ponder wedding plans. He soon realizes that he doesn’t have one male friend to take the position of best man at his wedding. Peter has always been a good man with many friends. The problem with his friends is that they are all girls. Peter decides to interview men for the job of being his best man. On these “man dates,” Peter meets a surplus of peculiar men. As Peter almost looses hope, he finally finds a man named Sydney Fife. Peter and Sydney hit it off on their “man date.” To Peter, Sydney seems like a perfect candidate.
As Peter and Sydney get closer, Zooey gets more aggravated. Since Peter and Sydney are becoming great friends, they are spending more together. The time that they spend together, causes Peter to lose time to spend with his fiancée Zooey. As Peter and Sydney’s relationship grows, Peter and Zooey’s relationship dwindles. Soon, as the wedding grows nearer, Peter is left with a hefty decision to make. He must decide whether his new friendship is worth getting in the way of his relationship with the woman he loves.
This movie, written by John Hamburg and Larry Levin, is an adorable comedy to watch. Unlike other comedies where the same storyline is repeated, I Love You Man is a breath of fresh air. This new twist on comedy allows this movie to be a success. I recommend this movie to couples of all ages.
