Teens for Jeans: A Success!

http://my.hsj.org/schools/newspaper/tabid/100/view/frontpage/schoolid/207/articleid/505049/teens_for_jeans_a_success.aspx

By Alissa Ousley

One in three people under the age of eighteen are homeless. To help out these underprivileged children, Aeropostale has teamed up with the Do Something Organization to create the Teens for Jeans project. Anyone can collect their old jeans and drop them off at any Aeropostale store. The jeans will then be distributed to any youth that is in need of the pants. Many schools across the nation, including our own, have been signed up to participate in this event. Over ten thousand schools have been enrolled in this project across the country. Since the project started, Aeropostale has collected over one and a half million pairs of jeans. This project has benefits for the donators as well. The school that collects the most pairs of jeans will receive five thousand dollars, a party for your school and a pair of pants for every student in the school. Some other students will also receive scholarships for their participation. Both the homeless and schools will benefit from these generous donations. "We have already collected over three hundred pairs at the Jackson location alone" said Olivia Hicks. Olivia works at the Westwood Mall Aeropostale and has been impressed with the turn out they have had so far. Please help with this project and donate your jeans soon, before it's to late.
