By Shelagh Manning and Lauren Dubois

Lauren Dubois

Some students are taking the swine flu very serious while others aren’t as serious.

“I’m pretty scared. I don’t want it to come here. I’m washing my hands a lot and not sharing drinks,” McKayla Lopez of grade ten said.

“I’m terrified, I don’t want to die [I’m using] hand sanitizer and washing my hands,” stated sophomore Rachel Shaughnessey.

“I’m kind of scared but not really, I’m washing my hands an excessive amount,” said sophomore Sarah Caron.

“I’m not petrified, but I’m avoiding hospitals, and if I went there I’d wear a mask. But I wouldn’t wear one in regular public places. I’m being very cautious, washing my hands, avoiding crowds, not biting my nails, and doing everything they suggested, I’m definitely using caution,” said librarian Mrs. Nazzaro.

“I am terrified of getting it, it’s scary how fast it’s spreading it’s already in Tyngsboro so I’m worried. I’ve been washing my hands and trying to be more careful around people who are sneezing,” said sophomore Kyle Kasabian.

Rather than taking the swine flu seriously, others aren’t as scared of being effected by it. Some students are even joking about it.

“I am horrified I went to the Dollar Tree and bought medical masks,” said sophomore Zack Barker jokingly.
“I’m not scared of the swine flu. I’m not [taking any precautions]. I’m not worried about it,” said sophomore Shannon Brunet.
