    Abortion is a controversy all over the world, with dissenters citing religious and moral beliefs. In the long run, having an abortion should be a decision made by the mother and possibly the father whom having the baby would affect the most.  Many people in the United States advocate outlawing abortions. The Supreme Court made it legal for woman to receive abortion; however people still do not agree with women being able to have abortions.  This however, would violate the rights of United States citizens.     Many people believe that young girls should not be able to get an abortion without parental consent. Many teen girls who get pregnant and want an abortion do not want to tell their parents, due to their parents not agreeing with them being secretly sexually active. The woman who does not end up getting the abortion may either keep the kid or may put the baby up for adoption. If the woman keeps the baby she may not be able to provide for the baby as the mother may want to. If she put the baby up for adoption, it may be given to a nice family or it may go from foster home to foster home, there are many children that go in the foster care program and it is a possibility that the child may never get which may cause the child to feel like they are not cared about.     Most of the reasons people do not believe in abortion are connected to religious beliefs. The US Constitution clearly states that there is no state religion. Thus making abortion illegal would be going against the US Constitution. Abortion affects the mother and no one else. A mother who has the baby and cannot provide for the child would affect society more then if the mother had received an abortion. If abortion does not affect society and it also violates the rights of United States citizens, the government should not create a law preventing abortion.     ]]> Fri, 29 May 2009 22:35:31 GMT
