By Katie Johnson

The week of March 1 st through March 5 th , about 75 boys showed up ready to go and participate in track. Among these 75 were three guys who stood out to Coach Hall. They are among the several outstanding athletes that participate in track, according to Coach Hall. These three were Malaki Seanoa, Gorge Posadas and Cody MacDougall. “I started track my sophomore year,” Gorge says. He also said that Coach Hall recruited him. Malaki says Hall recruited him as well. On the day of the meets, everyone is supposed to think of a specific color to help them focus. Posadas says that the team has Wednesday visualization to help them prepare. Malaki likes to visualize the color gold “because gold is first place and that’s what I go for every time.” Senior Evan Miller likes to think of blue and gold because they’re school colors. Gorge and Malaki also listen to their iPod’s before the meets. Coach Hall says one of his goals for this year is to have the team win WESCO North. That would be a big accomplishment because the team is competing with a lot of 4A teams, which means they have larger numbers of people. Coach Hall also says that two teams to look out for would be Marysville and Stanwood. Coach Hall grew up doing track with his family, at school and even into his college years. He participated in the throwing events. Some throwing events are javelin and shotput. Malaki also does the throwing events. “No one messes with people who throw spears,” he says.
