By Sherrelle, 9th grade

The Job Fair took place Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in the small gym at TechBoston Academy. It was from about 11:45 to 12:30 to 1:00. I think the job fair went well for a first time. Companies and organizations who were there included: Franklin Park Zoo, U.S.S. Constitution Museum, Micro Center, Private Industry Council, Citizen Schools, Insurance Company, Agency of Change, Ek Tek and Project Direct. Next year when we set up for another job fair I would like for it to be much bigger. I was hoping for more jobs to show up, like Stop & Shop, Shaws, ABCD, etc. Interview with Daniel, a freshman: Q: How was the job fair? A: Excellent. Q: Which jobs did you like the most? A: I'm not really sure. Q: Would you want another job fair next year? Why or why not? A: Yes, I would because I think the job fair that was set up was good but I would like another one next year to see if it will be great. Q: Did you get to go to all of the tables? A: No. Q: How many jobs did you apply for? A: About two or three because I wasn’t really interested in many of the jobs that were there. Q: Which jobs were you hoping to be there and they weren’t? A: Stop & Shop, Shaw’s, most all fast food restaurants like KFC. Q: How long did you stay at each table? A: About 3 – 5 minutes. Q: Would you want the other job fair to be bigger? Or was this job fair big enough? A: I would like the next job fair to be much bigger. Interview with Michael, a freshman: Q: What did you think of the job fair? A: It was good Q: Which jobs did you like the most? A: To tell you the truth I really don’t know. Q: How many jobs did you apply for? A: Three. Q: Would you want another job fair next year? Why or why not? A: Yes. Because I enjoyed going around to each table and finding out what each jobs had to offer to me. Q: Did you get around to all of the tables? A: Yes. Q: How long did you stay at each table? A: About 3-5 minutes. Q: Which jobs were you hoping to be there and they weren’t? A: I was hoping for the most popular jobs to be there like Wal-Mart, Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, K-mart, Sears, and etc. Q: Would you want the other job fair to be bigger? Or was this job fair big enough? A: Yes, I would like for the next job fair to be bigger because I want to be able to apply for more jobs. Number of companies that showed - 9 Kids showed – mostly all freshmen, 5- 20 sophomores and juniors.
