AMC’s new hit series “The Walking Dead” has proven to be a huge success in both the drama and horror genres. Season one of the new series aired on October 31, 2010, “The Walking Dead,” follows a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, lead by ex-sheriff Rick Grimes, as they try to survive the aftermath of the end of the world. The survivors are pushed to the limits of both human endurance and sanity as they deal with the undead horrors and what remains of the human population. “The Walking Dead” has received acclaim for its gritty realism and portrayal of the darkest corners of humanity. The series has received great praise by both zombie enthusiasts and fans of modern horror, and is in fact the most-watched television drama of all time. This reaffirms viewers' hunger for premium television on basic cable.
