The search can often be excessively difficult, especially in Washington. This is why we have banded together and surveyed several students throughout Tahoma High School. Just to be fair we made sure each grade level was represented and the same question was asked. Q: What is your favorite park to skate at and why? Matt Possanza, 12th- A: The Bellevue Skate Plaza “It has a really sick manny pad.” Matt Baca, 11th-A: Battleground “It had everything, even a foam pit and it was super sick.” Michael Bala, 11th-A: Bellevue Skate Plaza “I like all of the street also the c-ledge and square rails.” Jacob Smith, 12th-A: Bellevue Skate Plaza “It’s smooth and has good flow.” Mark Carranza, 12th-A: Bellevue Skate Plaza “It’s a nice smooth park because they put a lot of money into it.” Jesse Swift, 12th-A: Puyallup Skate Park “It’s lit till 11pm and has something for everyone.” “It’s also large and well built with smooth ramps.” Felicia Claflin, 12th-A: Mukilteo Skate Park “The Muk” “It has good flow, good vert, you don’t have to worry about bikes getting in your way, it’s big and everyone there is really nice.” Reece Clayson, 10th-A: Renton’s Skate Barn “45,000 sq. ft! Something for everyone no matter what their ability level is.” TERMS Flow: How smooth the overall feel of the park is and how easy it is to maintain speed. C-Ledge: A C-shaped ledge/ block of cement. Vert: When the ramp curves to a vertical point Manny Pad: A block of cement that is flat and raised off the ground and used for tricks For those who don’t already know sick means dope, dope means rad, rad means cool, and cool means amazing.
