By Brittney Wallace

Teenagers are always constantly falling in whatever rendition of love we can muster up. I’ll take a chance in disagreeing with most adults when I say that we aren’t too young. Summer flings; a prime example. It’s almost summer time, and to be honest, there’s one thing that all teenagers look for: summer love. Summer loves aren’t always easy to maintain, and you may not even find one at all, but if you do, there are a few simple rules to help you keep your Summer Love through the winter. Rule number one: don’t fight over anything stupid. You saw him looking at a cute girl? So what! As long as he doesn’t make a move on her, it doesn’t matter. And you never know, he may not even agree on her level of attractiveness. Rule number two: your friends should always be respectful of who you’re dating. They have a lot of pull on your life and thoughts, but you shouldn’t let this get in the way of your relationship. Long story short: if your friends are walking around talking bad about your love, it reflects on you. If you care, do something about it. The last and final rule and most definitely the most important: Make sure it’s someone you actually want to date. Some of you may view summer flings as a time to mess around, but people have emotions. Don’t do to them what you wouldn’t want done to you. Summer is a time of fun and romance. Don’t mess it up with a fling if you’re not ready, or you may start the school year off with a bad taste in your mouth.
