I think we are all surprised by the outcome of the Cross Country team this year. We have a grand total of ten kids (eight more than last year) and neither of the runners on last year’s team joined this year! The runners this year are (in no particular order) Juan Rocha, Matt Clarke, Cristina Zuniga, Angela Ramirez, Nathan King, Brenda Carmona, Eduardo Carmona, Gabriela Torres, Ricardo Garcia, and Michael Spieckerman. So far this year, we have participated in the Bronco Round-up at Kit Carson Park on 9/8, All Citrus Schools 'Friendly Meet' at Chollas Lake in San Diego on 9/13, Citrus League East #1 at Mt Empire on 9/21, 'Friendly Meet' at Stonewall Mine in Julian on 9/26, and Saints Small Schools Invitational at Morley Field in San Diego on 9/28. Everyone is improving greatly so far this year, thanks to some hard training. The next meet we will participate in is the meet here in Borrego out by La Casa Del Zorro on October 25.
