By Jessa Robeson, Staff Reporter

Basketball involves explosive jumps, quick turns and pivots, quickness and power moves. Physical fitness plays a great part in basketball. Mental and physical toughness are equally important for the players.
“If you have something from practice in your mind that you can do something in the game, you will be able to do it,” said Junior Tia Perry.
Tabb High Tigers girls basketball start off the season with a new coach and a new line up. The ladies seem to have a tough road ahead adjusting to new players, plays, and other little things that make a team, click or succeed. The girls still seem to be confident after losing three seniors from last season, four players that decided not to come back, and starting off the season with a new coach.
“The players that are left are committed to making this season the best yet,” said Perry.
Believing and planning to do well is only half the battle. The pieces that did not seem to be there last year are letting the lady tigers hope that they will show up this year. The ladies must merge together and form one team with returners, rising sophomores, and freshmen. Even with all this change, the ladies seem to be prepared and have it in their mind set that this season will bring good fortune.
The Lady Tiger’s definitely posses the talent, skill, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic for a successful upcoming season.
“This season is Tabb Tiger’s coming out year!” said Perry.
Motivated to play to their potential, the Lady Tigers should have a strong season to come. They surely will be forced to work hard and bond with each other with the new players coming on the team.
