By Brin, Christopher, Saul

Summer campers enjoy a cool treat.

On June 29, St. Veronica’s Summer Camp was the coolest spot in Baltimore, when we had an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social. At 1 p.m., the gym was transformed into an ice cream parlor. We chose between strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate ice cream, and there were blue sprinkles and M&Ms to put on top. “I like chocolate the best,” said Miss Haynie. “And on top, I like hot fudge, caramel, strawberries, and whipped cream.” “It was a lot of laughs,” said Christopher. “We were so happy we had ice cream.” As Brin dug into a vanilla and strawberry ice cream cone, she commented “We had a ball. It was the best ice cream social I’ve ever been to.” Saul, on the other hand, chowed down on a vanilla and chocolate cone. “It was good. I got brain freeze,” he said. Another way we stayed cool was swimming. We went swimming on June 30 at a community pool. "We played basketball in the water, did backflips, and dove into the deep end," said Saul. "It was fun!," said Brin. "We get to go swimming every Friday."
