By Brad Curtis

Michigan Primary is not really a win for Romney If you watched any network news last week, chances are you heard non-stop talk about Michigan’s republican primary. Michigan native Mitt Romney won Michigan’s republican primary last Tuesday; however, it was a hollow victory. While Romney won the primary, he had a very poor showing. According to an article by the Washington Post, Romney only defeated competitor Rick Santorum by three percent of the popular vote. Because Michigan has a proportional primary, meaning delegates are given based upon vote percentage, his win was further diluted. All in all, Romney and Santorum will come out with nearly the same number of pledged delegates. In order to look like a strong contender for the presidency, he needed to sweep the state. The outcome of the primary serves only as an embarrassment for the Romney campaign. This narrow victory serves as an illustration of the lack of excitement for Romney, even in his home state, where his father was once governor. If Romney could not pull off a landslide victory in Michigan, how can he expect to defeat Pres. Obama in the general election this November?
