By B. Vanhaitsma

The Internet is something many teens claim they can’t live without. With the never-ending demands from Facebook and Twitter, some can’t help but to get online every day. With students all but living on the Internet, it seems as if it’s a step in the right direction for the school to introduce online scheduling this year. Every year, students file down to the guidance office in early spring to make their class selections for the next year. This year the scheduling process has been transformed however. Students can, and have to, log into their Pinnacle to choose their classes. If there is a problem after that, they then sign up to see their counselor or the guidance office will call them down if they catch a mistake. Although online scheduling was a good idea, it obviously had some glitches since it was the first run. “Freshmen could sign up for classes like A.P. Psych, which they are clearly not prepared for,” Richard Luczak, guidance counselor says. “I feel like it’s a good idea, it’s just not where it needs to be yet,” says Sabian Taylor ’13. Aside from the few complications, it was a good first run and will be done in the years to come. “The goal was to be more efficient,” Luczak says, “and once we get over the learning curve, it will be a lot easier.”
