Plan for Makeup Days Inclement weather has affected the schools and students a lot this semester. Overall, for this year and last year, we have had a total of eight days out because of bad weather. While many students are excited about missing school, the many days missed have disrupted everyone’s schedule, especially teachers. For the 2010-2011 school years, there are four snow days built in for the makeup snow days, but since we have exceeded our limit, Metro has to come up with a way to makeup the extra snow days. Because, last year our plan to makeup days caused troubles for teachers and students’ families, we have decided to use another approach. Metro concluded that in order to make up the snow days, the students will be attending school on Friday, February 11, and on Monday, February 21. February 11 was originally parent teacher conference, and February 21 was supposed to be professional development day. The original purpose of these two days have been converted to a regular attendance day so students will be reporting to school.
