			<title><![CDATA[Varsity Lady Pirates Off to 5-3 Start in Basketball: Sanders Leads Varsity over Mart, Hubbard, Hamilton, Riesel at Home, Teague on Road]]></title>

Also chipping in were Ieisha Bigelow and Jessica Starts with seven each, and Karmen Soto six. The ladies traveled to Teague Nov. 10 for matchups with the Lions, and LV prevailed in the varsity game, 56-34, with Sanders nailing 21, Ashley White 15, Bigelow 8, Soto 3, and Walker, Williams, and Redrick two each. The ladies' squads played host to Hubbard Nov. 13 with the varsity cruising to its third straight win, 60-41, behind Sanders's 14, Ashley White and Jessica Starts with 12, Bigelow's six, Walker's five, Sandoval's four, and Williams with two. The varsity game vs. Hamilton was rescheduled to Saturday Nov. 17, when LV jumped out to a 26-13 halftime lead and were never headed in a 47-38 win, led by Amber-Ashley White with 12 each, Starts with 8, Sanders-Bigelow with 4, Sandoval with 3, and Soto-Jewelisha Jefferson with 2 each. The varsity roster includes seniors O’Koye Hobbs #1 (currently returning from an injury), Ashley White #5, Jessica Starts #32, Amanda Sandoval #22, Karmen Soto #20, and LaCandice Sanders #4; juniors Amber White #25, Jewelisha Jefferson #10, Brittany Williams #40, and Ieisha Bigelow #15; and sophomore Shapae Redrick #33. Next on the schedule was a JV/varsity matchup at Groesbeck Nov. 19, where the varsity dropped a 41-34 decision. The Lady Pirates played host to the Grandview Lady Zebras Saturday Nov. 24 and lost, 57-52 despite the return of O'Koye Hobbs with four points; Ashley White led the team with 23, while Amber White had nine, Sandoval seven, Starts six, and Bigelow three. The leading rebounder was Amber White with 10. On Nov. 27, the Lady Pirates defeated Riesel, 54-17, with Sanders scoring 12, Ashley White 10, Amber White nine, Shapae Redrick-Bigelow-Starts with four each, and Jewelisha Jefferson-Hobbs-Soto with two each. Currently, the team's record is 5-3 with the next games Friday and Saturday Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at the Bruceville-Eddy Tournament after losing its opener Thursday to Axtell, 56-53, despite 20 points by Ashley White and ten each by Sanders and Starts. ]]></description>
