Twenty-six students from all over the state participate in the New Mexico Press Association's 2012 High School Journalism Workshop. Students came from as Ft. Wingate (Wingate High School, BIA), Clovis, Lovington, Portales, Las Vegas, Socorro, Ojo Caliente, Rio Rancho and Albuquerque.

Adan Garcia, Operations Manager at The University of New Mexico’s (UNM) Communications and Journalism Department, spoke to students in the New Mexico Press Association’s High School Journalism Workshop on June 12. Garcia talked about his job and the UNM journalism program. Garcia talked about and showed videos he’s made over the years. He also talked about his life as a teacher at UNM teaching video 1 and 3. Garcia graduated at Bowling Green State University with a master’s degree in Career and Technology issues and joined the UNM Department of Communication and Journalism in the fall of 2009.
