By Katherine Gonzalez/Staff Reporter

MCT
Jim Broadbent, left, as Professor Horace Slughorn and Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter in Warner Bros. Pictures' fantasy adventure, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

May brought out many thrilling, action packed movies to kick off what’s coming up for this summer’s line up. ‘X-Men,’ ‘Star Trek,’ ‘Angels & Demons,’ and ‘Terminator Salvation’ thrilled movie-goers and eagerly led them to what is coming up for the next three months of summer.
For those who are looking for some early Halloween scares, the must-see movies are ‘Drag Me to Hell’ and ‘Halloween 2.’ ‘Drag Me to Hell,’ out May 29, is about a loan officer, played by Alison Lohman, who is approached by an old lady who asks her for an extension to pay her mortgage for the third time.
When she refuses the old lady’s request and gets evicted from her home, she gets a dreadful curse in return that is meant to repeatedly take her to hell to take away her soul. Little did they know that she is going to put up a fight.
‘Halloween 2,’ out August 28, is directed by Rob Zombie this time and has another twist to the story. Michael Myers is still in a struggle to control his anger management, and he’s now terrorizing people who are already traumatized from his last rampage.
Movies for the people who are anxiously awaiting to see explosions, butt-kicking heroes, action-packed movies are ‘The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3,’ ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,’ ‘Public Enemies,’ ‘GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra,’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.’
‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (June 24) brings back the Autobots Bumblebee and Optimus Prime to battle with Decepticons, who came to Earth to find their ancient leader “The Fallen” and in the process, annihilating all humans as well. They also introduce new characters from both the good and evil side.
‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ (July 15) is the sixth installment of the successful series. The movie has been hugely anticipated since it had an original release date of November 2008, but was delayed until this summer.
If you seek comedy movies this summer, the line up is: ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,’ ‘Land of the Lost,’ ‘The Hangover,’ ‘The Proposal,’ ‘Year One,’ ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,’ ‘I Love You Beth Cooper,’ ‘Funny People’ and lots more.
‘Land of the Lost’ (June 5) stars comedy legend Will Ferrell, when he plummets into a parallel world where he is faced with characters like the Sleestak, Chaka,` and a T-rex named Grumpy. It is a remake of the 70’s Saturday morning kid’s show so it will draw in both parents and kids.
Another anticipated comedy is ‘Year One’ (June 19) with Jack Black. The movie takes place in the year one where people stumble through ancient history after being kicked out of their village.
This summer line-up holds many movies that are going to bring many thrills and laughter to movie goers nation-wide, with movies from every genre to satisfy everyone.
