By Corrina Huerta

Courtesy of the Official Twilight Website

Crowds of people lined up in theaters all over the U.S. on Friday Nov. 21 to see the highy anticipated film Twilight . The movie based accurately ressembled Stephenie’s Meyer’s novel. As a fan of the book and the Twilight phenomenon in general, I was satisfied with the movie. The actors accurately interpreted the role of the characters. Special effects, such as Edward’s speed and quick leaping ,looked awesome yet believable. The only thing that I would have asked for was for Bella and Edward’s relationship to be more developed in the movie. The connection between Edward and Bella during the scene in which they first interact in their Biolgy class was more vividly described in the book than was visible in the movie. However, the chemistry between Edward and Bella becomes more evident in the “meadow scene when Bella sees what Edward looks like in the sun light for the first time. Bella accepts Edward is not human and loves him for his inner and outer beauty and for what he truly is, a vampire. The movie connects perfectly to the extreme emotions of the teenage world: dealing with falling in love, self- esteem and family issues. “I liked it. It made me realize that you don’t go out looking for love, it just comes to you”, said senior Henry Escobar about the movie. Besides the plot being interesting and suspenseful, the movie also depicted the true meaning of love.
