By Gunnar Wilson

The Business Bilingual Financial Academy or BBFA is an academy founded in 1996 to help individuals not only to prepare, but to actually succeed in college. Focusing particularly on business, the program goes the extra mile and helps individuals pass their current classes through the help of teachers and fellow BBFA classmates. The academy is funded by the State of California. The state recommends that schools start smaller communities, with a focus like media, science, religion or business, such as the BBFA. "This Academy is a very motivating academy. It pushes everyone to pass, while enjoying the friends you will have... You will be with them in most of your classes. The BBFA is a great program for all," said the BBFA president Mena Mansour. The curriculum includes field trip opportunities to see business in action. Participating in activities such as job shadowing gives students perspectives on what a particular job is about, said Mansour. Ob taining a clear understanding of today's business world, asa youth, will broaden students college potential and make college that much easier to understand. "Alot...no, most of the kids go on to college somewhere, and already have gotten a real world experience,” said BBFA teacher Beth Makowski.
