Shopping On A Teen Budget

http://my.hsj.org/schools/newspaper/tabid/100/view/frontpage/schoolid/78/articleid/286004/shopping_on_a_teen_budget.aspx

By Anita Alwani

Shopping has been very hard these days because of the on-going economic crisis. It's even harder for teens to purchase the latest fashion trends because of the lack of finances in most households. Most teenagers want the latest trends and it's hard to keep up with them when they change every few months. These days many teens are unable to shop that often. Not everyone has a steady job and many teens don't receive as much allowance as they would like. Many teenagers receive $20 a week. With so little money teens are unable to buy many items. Therefore, they need to stretch their dollar and buy only the clothes and accessories they really want. Instead of shopping at expensive department stores, teens should consider shopping at much cheaper stores such as Old Navy, Target, Forever21, etc. These stores carry the same style of clothing, for much cheaper prices. For instance, instead of spending $40 on a pair of pants at a expensive department store, you can go to Old Navy, and will most likely to be able to find and purchase at least two shirts and maybe a pair of jeans for that amount if a sale is going on. This is a great bargain. So even with the horrible economic crisis going on, if teenagers stretch their money, they too can purchase the latest fashions as often as they would like.
