Advisor Ms. Jennifer Swanson entered the 2007 Shield last June. She was notified in mid-December of the winning results. The scores are as follow: Category General Page Design 200/200; General Photography 145/175; Content Presentation 330/360; Publication Structure 210/220; Creativity 40/45; with the Grand Total of 925/1000. The ASPA explains that the Shield has shown excellence in the fields of writing, photography, and page design. The AHS yearbook staff worked hard all year to achieve excellence. “Because we’re awesome like that,” expresses Yearbook Club and Organizations Editor Josh Salinas (12). “It’s cause we worked our hardest last year to publish the best yearbook possible. All the hours we spent working together really paid off! Getting this award is one of the best feelings ever, knowing that we put our time into this book. I can’t wait until this year’s book is completed. I love the yearbook staff and advisor. Ms. Swanson is the BEST and not only has the best personality, but also the best advice given for this year’s accomplishments,” states Yearbook Student Life Editor Gabriella Ramos (12). “Last year’s staff really came together as a group and worked very hard to give Arroyo students the best yearbook possible. I am very proud of their accomplishment and even prouder to be their advisor. This year’s staff is just as dedicated. The 2008 Shield promises to be an excellent yearbook. Buy yours today!” states Yearbook Advisor Ms. Swanson. “Thanks to Ms. Swanson and our dedicated AHS students, the 2006-2007 yearbook was a success. I loved it!” Ms. Maria Alfaro said proudly and enthusiastically.
