The funny videos will keep you coming back for more (Photograph: Creative Commons)

It’s a Wednesday and you got home from school a couple hours ago and you just finished your homework. What’s there to do now? The internet? The internet has become a major source of communication and a solution to boredom. Of course there is the always useful Myspace and Yahoo email, but there is also YouTube. Let’s face it, YouTube is where we spend a lot of time researching random and funny videos. YouTube has become an addiction for many internet junkies, not just at Beckman High, but also around the globe. It is helpful for looking up that one music video that you absolutely must see again and “LOL” videos of people doing stupid things. A common amusement for almost everyone is seeing people hurt themselves or hurting others which, of course, can be found on YouTube. YouTube allows people to create their own accounts and add their own videos that just add more amusement to the website. Some of the funniest videos are played over and over again. After talking to some Beckman students, the most popular videos have been identified. One of the funniest videos is “Shoes” by Kelly. It is an impromptu music video about a character named Kelly. This video is about Kelly, played by a man in female clothing, and her obsession with shoes. The catchy song will absolutely get stuck in your head and make you want to watch it over and over. “Shoes” has over 20 million views, with numbers still climbing. Another video is “Muffins.” It’s about the variety of muffins that are sold at Cunningham’s Muffins. The flavors go from cherry to blueberry, to strawberry, bull frog, cricket, fire, glass and blood. This video has over five million views. Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox are two men that have conducted Smosh Productions and have a series of short videos that have made them famous around the world. Their funniest videos are “Boxman,” “Dolls,” and “Battle Ship.” You can spend hours watching all of their videos on YouTube. They create a new video every few weeks. These videos prove to be addicting, and will have you coming back for more. One video that you can’t miss is “Pancake Mines.” It is all done by Clay Mation. It is about two clay guys, and they are trying to get through a pathway of pancakes that will explode if you touch them. It is only one of the many videos done by Clay Mation. Of course there are those short ten second clips that you can’t resist. The must see short videos are “Formula Deer Hunting,” “Panda Sneeze” and “See the Future.” YouTube is a great site to visit when you are bored. It will provide you with music videos, clips of shows, funny homemade videos, comedians, and even commercials. Just think what the world would be like without YouTube.
