Scotty McCreery out for a win on "AI"

By Hilary Gugig

The voices of country music heartthrobs Josh Gracin, Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks have captured fans' attention since the beginning of their reign over the country music scene, but Scotty McCreery from our neighboring town of Garner is making waves on American Idol. McCreery has been able to stick close to who he is as a singer, but he will be challenged by tonight's Idol, which has the theme of Motown. The eleven contestants' choices for songs come from such performers as Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, the Jackson 5, the Temptations and the Supremes. In my opinion, McCreery has the talent and the voice range to tackle any type of music, but it will be up to the fans watching to help keep him on the show.
