Forget Swine Flu, Senioritis is running rampant

By Sam Dedinas

This disease only affects a person when they enter their graduating year. It is a disorder caused by the individual becoming sick of doing his/her work after many years of wasted hours on homework and projects. Symptoms tend to include laziness, late nights, zero’s on homework grades, skipping classes, and even skipping school altogether. Another strong indicator of someone having this terrible handicap is the excessive use of the sentence “whatever, ill do what I want”. Once the individual hits these stages the only cure known to man for this disease happens to be the day of graduation. It seems the excitement of graduating high school is the only cure strong enough to get the student of out his/her lazy mindset. Anyone that shows the symptoms of this disease but is not actually in their graduation year is just a procrastinator or is pre-maturely developing this disease. This can be a large problem for those individuals because if you let the disease take over too early you may find your parents yelling at you, teachers and/or Donna always sending you to the office or room 32, even failing classes needed to graduate. Teachers do not fear; there is nothing you can do. It is a hopeless cause to try and fight the disease. If you would like to try to help a student that is obviously infected the only way to ease the pains of senioritis is to allow the student their much needed sleep, preferably on a desk or maybe a comfortable chair your classroom happens to posses. If you don’t happen to have said comfortable spot to sleep then leave the senior be, He/she is tired enough to find a spot suitable for aiding their sleep deprivation needs. This article is meant to bring awareness to all of GHS, Senioritis is in full season and there is no stopping it now. So hang tight for a couple more weeks and we will all get through this together. Class of 2009 is where it’s at. Good luck to everyone! Happy graduation!
