By Megan Cuneo

On Sunday, June 24, Broadwater High School lost another class to graduation. To say the least they will be missed. It started at 2 p.m. and the gym was completely crowded. It comes to show just how important these students were not only to this high school, but the whole community. It started out with a prayer by Leigh West. The speaker system was not in the greatest. But Mr. Garman got it figured out. Then Micha Weidman, the salutorian, gave a great speech about her point of view on life. Not only about what happens in the future, but by whats happening now, and what already happened to determine your life today. Then she was followed by her fellow class mates, Siobhan Flynn and Laci Kennedy, the valedvictorians. They gave a great speech on what they have learned about each other over the years and shared a bit about themselves. They talked about being a child of the nineties and how that effected their well being. Brilliant speech girls! The Commencement speech was given by Mike Dexter, a local pastor. He gave wise words of advice and lyrics to a Rascal Flats song that made his message very clear for the graduating students. The Blue Notes, a choir group of Broadwater, sang "I hope you dance." Ashley Cooper, Trent Larson, Alex Grover, Allison Cazier, Beth Robertson, and Mikhalia Harper did a fantastic job. Then just the senior girls, Beth, Alex, and Mikhalia sang "Homeward bound." They sang beautifully. The last part of the ceremony was the tassel switching and diplomas being handed out, it made all the families look very proud. The ending prayer was given by Blake Rauser. The students lined up along the families and threw their hats into the air. This concludes the Class of 2009's last day at Broadwater High School.
