This basketball Season truly has been an awesome experience. From beating Palmer and Doherty for the first time in years, to the team bonding, it really is astonishing. The season is over, but Varsity still has work to do in the playoffs. Coach Chris Earls stated “Hopefully, we’ll make it past the 2nd round, that’s my goal…” With the astounding skills of Bre Johnson, rebounds by Carlie Grove, and those needed 3’s from Krysten Franks; I know we will go far. We’d all have to agree, our defense is vicious. We can hold a #1 team to at least 30pts. This could be a real advantage for the Lady Marauders in this years playoffs. I would like to congratulate my fellow J.V. team; we beat Doherty. Even though we were C-squad Champs last year, we lost to them the first time we played them, but came back last Tuesday with a huge upset. With only 6 players we came together as a team, and had faith that we could win. Shots from Aeryn, Claudia, Lisa, and Justine kept us up with them. We truly had that intensity. Rebounds from Alyssa and myself kept us in the game as well as our free throws. The competition for spots next year is very intense. We have many immense players coming next year and stepping up to improve over the summer to better this Lady Marauders program. I know that this program will get better in the long run.
