    For years, people have been using cameras to capture memorable moments. Current, technology allows photo enthusiasts to take panoramic images, which puts the viewer in the center of the landscape.      Google has a new technology, created for Google Maps, to develop dynamic views over the Internet for users all over the world.        Google Maps is a free web-mapping service application that allows the user to virtually visit any location that has been scanned into the database. This service provides high-resolution satellite images for most urban areas in the United States and Canada, including Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.      Google Maps allows users to look up driving directions, see a 360-degree view of various city blocks, local businesses and view foreign countries, all of this at the click of a mouse. Because of the accuracy of this technology, various governments have complained about the potential for terrorists to use these satellite images in planning attacks, and for that reason, Google has blurred some areas for security.     “Google is a very progressive company and that is the reason I work for them,” said Martin D.F Angelo, a Google cartographer said. Angelo rides the Google Maps tricycle and was recently on the Penn State University Park Campus mapping the area. Using this technology or service, “We can navigate the world on the web and you can be safe all the time,” Angelo said.      With Google Maps, people have the ability to find the best route, helping to avoid the most dangerous areas in major cities.       “The tricycle has some cameras and a computer. The cameras take a lot of photos of the streets and then the computer synchronizes those photos in the computer’s GPS system,’’ Angelo said. Google not only has tricycles, but also, “hundreds of cars worldwide,” Angelo said.      Sometimes, people are confused when he is performing his various duties.       “We can be seen as intrusive, but that’s not what we are trying to do,” Angelo said.      In the coming months, Google will begin offering the ability for businesses to purchase “Ad Words,” a search-related keyword to send people who click on ads to a page containing coupons hosted on Google Maps.     Most people understand the great opportunity Google brings them.
