By Piero Yacarini

CV triumphed in this year’s home coming game 28-14, making it the Eagles first league win of the year. From the beginning, one could feel CV’s school spirit in the air. Most students and parents showed great team support by dressing up and screaming their lungs out. “The home coming game is my favorite time of the school year. It’s so exciting,” said Jonny Doig, junior. “I felt like there was a lot of pressure on us not just to win the homecoming game, but to win this game so we have a chance for the playoffs,” said Keith Franklin, wide-receiver. Quint Sereal highlighted the excitement by returning a kick-off over 90 yards. Several plays later, Travis Ford brought Eagles’ fans to their feet when he intercepted a key Panther pass and prevented the Panthers from scoring. Nose tackle Kevin Johnson said, “It was an all-around team effort and helped us come out on top over a good team. Sereal’s kick-off return put the nail in the coffin and took the life out of the Panthers.” “It was a tough game, but we knew we had to win,” said receiver-cornerback Navarre Jones. “We dug deep down and got the win.” Overall, the Eagles are 5-5 in the second week of November.
