I had originally planned on doing my book review on The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. However, pressing issues [time] forced me to switch to a shorter novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. In the end I probably would have had time to read The Fountainhead and complete a review in time for the final publication, due to many delays in the publication process. All in all, this article was not the most troublesome.
My second article on student art posed only minor obstacles, such as censorship. This article actually proved the usefulness of Facebook, as I used the social networking site to connect with a Dunbar graduate for an interview.
I wrote a very last-minute news article which covered Dunbar's bi-annual blood drive, which unfortunately got pulled from the paper due to untimeliness after one of several setbacks.
My last article covering the cross country team's 2009 season was the most problematic. I had planned on doing interviews after practice one day, only to miss the team by 10 minutes. That night I had to drive around to runners' houses to conduct the interviews. Transportation to the meet the next day turned out to be a disaster as well, and I missed the girls' race entirely. Luckily, the meet was behind as usual with cross country, and I was able to see the entire boys' race.
Design wasn't an issue, the software was easy to learn and I'm happy with my page. My articles could be more interesting, but hopefully I'll improve as the school year goes on.
