With the first issue finally published and distributed, I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I remember last year admiring Kelsey and Jennifer, specifically their gracefulness when addressing particularly sticky situations. Now in their shoes, I may not be as graceful, but my passion for our publication has only grown. With every sticky situation.
My first article for this year was an article regarding the Bluegrass Music Festival in September. Due to unforeseen problems, my article was never published and with all of the other articles and pages to overlook at the time, I was not heartbroken.
Writing my Bluegrass Music Festival article was a breeze; not only did I participate, but I enjoyed every moment of it. Recapping the festival within an article was not complicated. Obviously this time around, I'm challenging myself as a reporter and journalist, and trying to cover some serious ground within my articles. Although I had it easy for this past issue, it was only due to the many problems our staff faced with the paper. Now, I am going to focus on writing articles not only for my own pleasure, but well reported articles that the Dunbar community will enjoy to read.
