After writing both of these articles I must say that I'm not wholly pleased with the final product. I'm ecstatic that my dropout article made national edition, but i feel there are many parts that could've been edited out, expounded on, and some things I left out that were very important. In the begining I wanted to do this article on 3 levels; state, county, and dunbar. I wanted to talk about at which place things are best at and which things are worst out. So first i had to find the statistics on dropouts from this school, i went to the guidance office and was directed to Ms. Tompkins. She gave me a report from 2007 which was basically a chart that showed the dropouts gender, race, and grade level. After that i went online and looked our school's report card to see if that gave any more information. It did, it gave me all the information I needed. The information showed that KY dropout rates were high, fayette counties' were fairly high and Dunbar's were actually pretty low. This gave me all i needed to know about my three layers. Further than that I mentioned what the negative affects of a high dropout rate was on the state, and I talked about Graduate KY: A Community Approach which was a meeting held in September to reduce the dropout rate. I feel like I didn't follow through with enough information from Graduate KY or on my three levels which is why i'm not as happy with it as i could be.

Obama was easier, I looked up the press release from the Nobel peace prize on why the gave it to Obama and thought about if I really thought if he was deserving of the award or not. I decided that i didn't think he deserved it. So i set out to list what the comittee said about why he was deserving and say why i didn't think that made a deserving Nobel peace prize winner. I liked this article a bit better, and thought the same wat about the quality of writing.
