It’s a rare situation, but it has happened. A major problem has affected ten Toyota models ranging from 2004-2010. The two major problems are with the gas pedals and floor mats. The firm has recalled more than eight million vehicles worldwide, spending 1.26 billion dollars over fears of unsafe vehicles.

Toyota dealerships advised customers to bring their cars back to get looked at. Affected models are the 2004-2009 Prius, 2005-2010 Tacoma, 2005-2010 Avalon, 2006-2010 IS 250 and IS350, 2007-2010 Camry, 2007-2010 ES 350, 2007-2010 Tundra, 2009-2010 RAV4 , 2008-2010 Sequoia, 2009-2010 Corolla , 2008-2010 Highlander, 2009-2010 Matrix , and  2009-2010 Venza.

A recall is when a product is removed from the market or a correction is made to the product because it is either defective or potentially harmful. A recall is a result of unintentional mistakes by a company. Toyota stated that sudden unintended acceleration in certain Toyota models has resulted in over 19 deaths in the United States over the last decade. That is nearly twice the number of deaths associated with similar events in cars built by all other automakers combined. That’s not including all the people wounded from this problem.
Tara Robinson, a junior at Goshen High School, owns a 2010 Toyota Camry that had been recalled, and she was concerned. She had her parents bring it back to the dealership for safety. Yet, this happening to her car has not affected her view on driving, and it’s not keeping her off the roads. Tara stated, “I just started driving; it’s my first car and I love it.”
Ms. Giardina owns a Toyota Rav 4. Her car has not been recalled, but she was slightly concerned about her vehicle. This occurrence has changed her overall view on driving. She leaves more room between cars now and tends to press the break a little harder. Ms. G says “I’ve bought Toyotas all my life; they are the best.”  So Ms. G still thinks Toyota cars are safe and loves them; she will continue to buy from them.

Toyota and others knew they were having issues and attempted to hide it. All Car Companies should have came forward with a full disclosures of what car were dangerous.I never seen so many car companies GM - NISSAN - TOYOTA - HYUNDAI having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car was affected until I looked on http://www.carpedalrecall.com
