For some, life is about serendipity. What’s serendipity, you ask? In some cases, they’re those fortunate events that make you say, "Eureka!" For example, the chocolate chip cookie was invented through serendipity. Isaac Newton’s musings about the nature of gravitation with a mere apple was through serendipity.
Romantically speaking, serendipity involves the moments of fate that take you a step further in the road to happiness. That cute boy or girl you bumped into the other day? Definitely kismet!
I happen to be a "serendipitter." Ever since I was young, I believed I would be the happiest when I find my soulmate. I would dream of my knight in shining armor, and even my wedding day (every girl can relate, right?). Life, however, has taught me having faith in those expectations can be good, but you never know what can happen in the process that may change your mind.
What I learned is no matter what I believe is meant to be, no matter how convincing it can be, life can surprise you in many ways.
Have you ever had that moment where you really wanted something, and once you got it you realized you really didn’t want it?
What if you have found your ideal guy or girl, but it hits you that he or she is not really what you wanted?
My point is that life is full of surprises. The road to happiness is unpredictable—uncontrollable, even. And why not let fate take its course, instead of attempting to control something that isn’t meant to be?
Trust me, we all have our whole lives ahead of us. There really is no need to take initiative on love at the moment. We’re teenagers! Do we really, truly know what we want? No!
So, let’s live life and let life live. There’s no rush for that perfect fairy tale ending. Just kick back, relax, and enjoy life. Enjoy fate. More importantly, enjoy serendipity.
